Ok, now it's time to start the next evolution. I've upgraded the suspension, cooling, braking and creature comforts. Next, take that parts matching original 351C and put it in a box for later. The current plan is to replace that boy with with a new stout engine
that will eventually have EFI and a pair of huffers. We have started the
engine build!
The
block is back from the machine shop. We started with a NOS 4 bolt and
punched it out .030 over for the new slugs. We are
going to be using Speed Pro forged and coated pistons wrapped in Speed Pro matched rings.
The compression works out to be ~10.22:1
The block was violated as noted: align hone acid dip sonic check bored .030 turned 0.10 on the crank
balanced rotating assembly Once we spent a good 2 hours
cleaning the block, crank and mains we were ready to start assembly.
 The
bearings are seated into the block and the assembly lube is applied to all
surfaces including the thrust areas.

Here is a cool trick everyone should know. When you are placing the bearings
in the mains line up the indexed side slightly below the final resting
place. Gently slide the bearing into place and the index will line up with
the main cap. You can carefully slip it back and forth until it is seated.

The infamous rear main seal. Remember to offset the seams of the seal with
the cap. This will help maintain proper sealing of the oil slinger.
 The block
is prepped and ready to have the crank seated into its new home.
Here is a good shot of the rear main seal in its offset placement in the
main cap.
 We got
the mains installed and torque to specifications. .
The parts list... The block: 351C NOS 4 bolt.
The heads are currently assembled and ready to bolt
on. I will be using closed chamber 4V heads. Cam Specs:
