So there. I managed to get her into a reliable and drivable state. The smile factor went up by 1000% and I was happy.

Until....
I guess I was having a bit too much fun and snapped one of the U-joints during a stop light burn out. Serves me right. There I was flanked by a import wanna be and a 1967 mustang. What do I do? make lots of smoke and when I got off the throttle....BANG! It was all over. Luckily it happened just as I was shifting and the break was immediately under no load. After the embarrassing push from the driver of the mustang into a near by parking lot and a not so glamorous drive home in the back of a flatbed....well, you get the idea.

We decided to go ahead and replace all of the u-joints on the car. It was a miracle that I didn't leave a half-shaft on the pavement after examining the remaining units. Good call on my fathers part. I guess that explains why he is the Dad, eh?
