2003 was my first chance to attend the annual Las Vegas convention this year. Most of my time was spent instructing drivers at LVMS. I managed to get a few sessions in on both the euro T/A tires and some borrowed slicks.

(Thank you to Charlie Puckett for the loaner!)

I was quite happy with the new Carrera shocks/spring/GP4 sway bar combo after switching to the slicks. The euro's are too large for the 15x8 rears and the wheel will move side to side under load within the tire.

Check out the rake on this baby with the goodyears mounted! I set forth to sweep all of the loose gravel off the course.

Once the car was teched by the Drewster it was off to play on
the track. I had a great time hanging out with my Pantera brethren. I got a chance to go toe to toe with whiplash during one of the sessions. I was leading down the strait by at least 2 car lengths. Once I started setting up for right hand turn at corner # 1...a blue nose started to come into view to my right. We went around the corner two abreast.

We had what I like to call...."a moment."

Without events like these, drivers would in some cases never get an opportunity to learn how to "drive" a performance oriented vehicle. Big applause to the Puckett family for putting this event together every year.
